#207724 Working on the slim fans, actually. Too many bills right now, but soon.

Thanks for the compliment on the header, but I couldn't recommend it to anyone. If you have to change the clutch, bleed the slave cylinder, or bleed the master cylinder, you have to take the header off. Sure, it looks great and performs really great, but it's not worth having to add another 30 minutes to your labor time just for the header.

#207835 @chilango: Haha, thanks, but you'd be trading me the whole exhaust system!

@Carfanatic: Thanks! Hopefully overtime will be good to me the next couple of months and I can get some more updates.

#212420 Update:

I learned how to disassemble and reassemble a B-series transmission. I figured out that the splines on the right side of the differential were worn out too much so it was spitting out axles.

So I yanked the trans out of the car, tore apart my old LS trans, swapped the diffs and ring gears (B16 ring gear on LS diff), reassembled the B16 trans, installed the trans, got the linkages hooked up and went to row through the gears to make sure everything shifted properly.

No dice.

The shifter wouldn't budge.

So I yank the trans back out, tear it apart again, and find that the shift mechanism inside the trans was misaligned. Align it properly, and shift through the gears before reinstalling the case. :thumb:

So now I'm only an hour of labor away from driving my car for the first time in over three weeks.

Don't ask for pictures, because I didn't take any.

And BTW, before I get questions on the LS diff in the B16 trans:

The B16 and LS diffs are identical. I looked up the part numbers, visually inspected them side by side, and determined that they are literally the same part. Which leads me to believe that you can use a B16 LSD in an LS transmission.

Thanks for watching! Tune in next time, same Bat time, same Bat channel!

#218126 Whether or not anyone reads this thread, I'm going to continue posting in it. :D

Well. Got the transmission back up last time I posted, but the clutch wouldn't disengage. So I assumed the pressure plate was fucked. So I drop the transmission, order an OEM pressure plate. Got the pressure plate and decide to pull the Fidanza unit off to see exactly what's wrong.

FML.

One of the springs in the clutch disc hub had popped halfway out and had ground on the flywheel. Fortunately, it didn't take too much metal off the flywheel so I pulled it off, cleaned up the nastiness and had it rebalanced.

So I ordered a new clutch disc and friction plate for the flywheel (Fidanza flywheel FTW, clutch not so much...).

Got those in and installed then transmission installed same day.

It had been 2 months and a week since I had driven the car.

Got it all back together last Saturday night and it hasn't done anything out of the ordinary since then.

Next Friday, I'm ordering an ASR subframe brace. Following paycheck will be a Suspension Techniques 19mm rear sway bar.

#218259 Yeah, I know...typically by the time I get around to wrenching, I forget to grab the camera.

Ordered tie rod ends the other day. I'll be sure to take pictures of the disassembly and installation this time around.

It usually takes me about 1.5hrs to drop the transmission, 20-30 minutes to change the clutch, 45 if I'm changing the flywheel, and another 1.5hrs to reinstall the transmission and it's associated parts.

#219196 Replaced the tie rod ends. Still have a suspension knock that seems to be getting worse...and I can't pinpoint the location. I'm goign to jack the car up and check/tighten everything with a bolt on it.

Ordering the Energy Suspension bushing kit on Friday. Most of my bushings are shot to hell...I'll try to take pictures of the process.

In the mean time, here's pictures of the tie rod end job. Only the right side, the left side was an identical process.

Clean car. For the first time in a LONG time.
Image

Clean LS meshie. For the first time in quite some time.
Image

Powerslot goodness...notice how blue the middle of the friction surface is. I heart late braking into turns...
Image

Peekaboo!! I'm about to beat the shit out of you with a hammer! Oh, and you can see the Goodridge brake line here, too.
Image

10minutes later, old one is out.
Image

Nasty...
Image

Yay HOP!
Image

10 minutes after removal, new tie rod end installed.
Image

Tools I used. Spare for the jack and jackstand which were still underneath the car.

#222190 I installed the Energy Suspensoin bushings this past weekend. My car is totaled now. I was on my way to the alignment shop, and some douchebag turned into oncoming traffic and we collided. It's his fault, and I'm meeting up with the insurance adjuster tomorrow to figure out what I'm getting out of the deal, and to see how much it would cost to buy back the car for all my parts.

I'm probably getting a DelSol if the check is more than 2k. A close friend of mine wants to sell it to me. It's a B16A3. :D If they give me 3k, I'm definitely buying back the car and swapping parts. No doubt about that. I just have no idea where I'm going to keep the 'Teg...

Looking under the hood with the hood still latched.

Cracked windshield from the airbag.

It was bad...

Showing how badly the frame is tweaked.

It's totaled, no doubt about it.

What I saw when I stepped out of the car.

Sunroof popped out.

Crunch...

Radiator, condensor, fender, hood, bumper, bumper support, radiator support, and frame. Fucked.

My baby is broken... And I didn't even get to name her...

#222230 Honestly, and think what you want, I cried last night just thinking that I'll never get to drive my car again. I put every ounce of my being into that car. Blood and sweat galore. And some douchebag took it all away from me.

No shame in that, that was your hard work and pride. I would have cried too, for reals.

But on the flip side, find you a gutted EG, EJ or even another DC and swap alllll your stuff over, i.e. engine, suspension, interior, everything!! Probably find a shell cheap compared to starting completely from scratch again ;-)

#222266 I'm getting a 95 DelSol with a B16A3 in it for 2k because I know the guy and rebuilt his engine for cheap.

Going to buy back the Integra and swap all my parts over to the DelSol. Can you say, go-kart handling?
