i took everything out so i could fabricate without hurting anything except the surround im going down to the dungeon now to hopefully solder some things and put it back together....we shall see....the g/f and i are haveing some issues so that may effect my build a little (not the quality just the time spent) on it we shall see who knows maybe ill get more time for it.....

#259538 So driving down to PA on a uneventful trip i go to turn down the last road before my friends house which is inclined but ive done it before with the crx i hear a pop and then i start rolling backwards transmission is hard to move at all exspecially in neutral clutch fork moves back and forth just fine you hear the clutch engage and you get the speedo to move and axels look like they are trying to move but you dont go anywhere.......Sooo I think somehow out of no where my trans decided to take a shit at least i was able to get a tow from my friend to his house and help him with getting his crx running.....well got that running but now im back home with my crx still at his house an hours away and wont be able to pick it up till 530-6 which blows as i work 3rd tonight so i have to be quick.......

Now the dilema I have right now is do i just change the trans, trans and clutch, swap the engine out with the trans and put bearing in the Y8 and drop that in with a different trans, or take everything apart and just fix the car I may have tracked down a 4spd transmission i know i have an si trans but if i can find something for now that i can use thats not so short geard i think ill be better off..... but this was kinda something that i dont really understand wtf happened as it didnt even give any notification or signs on the trip that it was going to have an issue....

#260086 Thanks for the comments and yes that nesquick was actually filled with well hot glue gun tubes lol ovaltine for the win! put into a nesquick bunny lol......

anyhow so since my trans went and since i really did not want to go ahead and use the only cable trans i had since si's are getting harder to find i decided to go ahead and search for a parts car for a bit (if i didnt find one i was going to go ahead and go for the one trans i had and pop it in) low and behold after some negotiating through a buddy of mine i got a little ole 4spd hatch 1990 that was parked due to a supposed rod knock i bought it sight unseen and yesturday after a 24hour awake period after work going off of 3hours of sleep none the less i got it to my house thankfully it was only 10mins away and i only paid 200 for it. today is my strip day i am hopeing to get everything down to the bare bones and go from there but we shall see

and i found this im sure i can mend it for a friend who wanted one

Image

all n all defiantely worth the 200 i spent on it ill be cutting off a fair bit of sheetmetal to fix my can and the white hatch as its still under my care even tho i now beleive i have a exg/f driving it lol.....

a\nyhow hopefully updates later on of it all torn down getting ready for the yard.....

#260224 So after about one day and a half of another i pretty much have this thing torn down i still have some minor things to cut off the shell and im grabbing the steering rack too but for now im taking a break as this motor pull was a big pain in the rear just did not want to come out and as you can see it moved the whole car over lol.....

And now ive been looking at my crx every now and then and well to me the front end just dosent fit the car its too short So i was looking at front end conversions and really i do have to say much like the del sol the crx looks nice with the ek front end on it now most of my buddies have eks and i can get the body panels cheap all i would need to locate now is a front bumper and core support as my friends have fenders and im tradeing my egay hids with a flicker for a good hood and some other parts unrelated to this swap....and then onwards another friend is getting a 99-00si and well lets just say hes turning his 97 back to stock and probaly will be selling his c/f hood with some damage jdm fogs and front lip to me but we shall see i am just in the beginning stages of thinking and have only seen what i think to be a photoshoped picture of a crx with a ek front clip

tho there is always as suggested by apex the honda prelude front end with flip up headlights ftw lol but thatd be alot of work im just thinking out loud really
