so i had a d16y7 in my ek. bought a d16y8 vtect head with intake manifold injectors throttle body and distributor. everything is in now. hoses are all done sensors everything. my problem is with the distributor... the connectors dont match up. so i put on the dizzy from the y7. now it wont start. if anyone has any idea of what the problem is let me know thanks alot.

did you check to see that all your ground wires were connected? ecu plugged all the way in?

- Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:06 pm #101514 yeah all ground is good. but i didnt even touch the ecu. maybe the spark plug wires in wrong order? im about to sell my civic and buy a shitstang!

- Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:22 pm #101520 well id make sure your dist isnt 180 out or something dont think it would be possible but yea idk and id check timing, compression definately, and you need to get the right ecu to run the Y8 head properly but cant remember what it is.

but yea just to rule out the dist find a friend or parent tell them to come over and hold the spark plug to the exhaust manifold since i think thats the best place but yea have that attatched to any of the plug wires and see you you have spark. if you have spark then your dist is working if not then check to see if you have fuel going to the rail etc....may have clogged injectors or something idk check your spark and report back....
