#148871 ok i know this has probably been covered before but i have no knowlage on the DOHC zc what so ever. why is this a good motor to swap? what is the advantages of the second cam? and did the ever come as an auto?

#148872 direct swap in. non vtec so you dont have to run wires. i think it should have a lil more torque. DOHC. about the same power output as a z6 or a JDM d15 vtec

#148873 so is it worth it? i have a d15b non vtec right now with a delta 272 cam, it pulls nice but i kinda want more.

#148886 the motor you have now will pull harder than the DOHC zc. Finding parts for it is hard. They did come auto, the early integras came equiped with the US version of this motor. D16a1 i believe.

#148889 The DOHC ZC parts are hard to find yes but you can use multiple parts from other motors that are more abundant....there is also a forum just dedicated to the DOHC ZC.....and all you would have to do is look lol but yea the hp and torque of the motor is decent and its a dohc motor and you can just use a stock d series trans(the more abundant trans) instead of a b series....and now for the kicker....

Alot of people mainly buy these to go ahead and turbo since they are perfect for boost. thats where the DOHC ZC really shines is when there is a turbo attatched. or when you trick your friends into thinking that you have a b series.....Also one of the main probems ive found with the dohc zc is the fact that the intake manifold is ZC only but thankfully they do make an adapter plate. (zcspeed.com)....

And two final things to point out....i think i know at least on the 5spds the ZC trans is equal shaft length so id guess the auto is as well.....and if your going to go zc go and get a obd1 since i did have a obd0 one but the dizzy was expensive...and try and get the ecu with the motor when you buy it since the P29 is hard to get but luckily you just need to get a map into your ecu......

In all honesty its a double edged sword so to speak.....on one hand you have the ability to use more abundant parts from d series motors but on the other you gotta do a bit of research to get the most outa the ZC
