- Sun Oct 04, 2009 3:19 pm #148824 Any one ever got new valve cover bolts and grommets for their z6, how the hell do u get the new grommets thru the bolts. im thinkin of slicing a cross on the rubber part with a razor blade but i believe it would leak a bit. any ideas?. that skirt on the bolt itself makes is so damn hard to get it thru.. =[

- Wed Oct 07, 2009 2:05 pm #149272 I wouldn't slice them. If anything heat them up a little so they are more pliable then lube the bolts and run em on there. be careful not to burn them or warp them. (obviously) use a heat gun or good blow dryer

I got a new vc / gromet kit a bit ago for my old car. The rubber was already in the new washer lookin things for on top.

Just lube em up like teal_dx said, it should help.
