#150154 Well in june when i graduate high school i get some money, like 1200 or something around there. I have no where near enough money to do a engine swap and i'm perfectly content with the power and stuff of my z6.
so the question is, around how much could i rebuild my engine for?
i looked on ebay for a z6 rebuild kit but i dont want to rebuild my engine on ebay parts, so does anyone know of any good sites for a rebuild kit or do i have to go and buy everything peice by peice, how much about will this cost me?

its just a idea, i know i want to do something positive with the money instead of blowing it like a 18 year old kid usually would do.

#150159 When you say rebuild... do you mean simply replace piston rings and gaskets/seals and bearings? Or do you mean aftermarket rods & pistons, build the motor to make/handle more power?

What's wrong with your z6 right now that it needs to be rebuilt? (burning oil, knocking etc...)

#150160 nope, im not building it to boost or anything
nothing is really wrong with it, it burns a little bit of oil. its just got 171k on it and i figure since im going to college and wont have money to build a engine on the side and stuff, if i could just rebuild mine so it has 0 miles i wont have to worry about a car for college and stuff, it is more of a option. if i can do it cheap i will for reliability.

#150168 well i can offer somepriceing advice lol since ive been here and wanted that before....

Dont know about machine work but that ends up getting costly depending where you go there are some shops around us but i never really got far into my build to call and geta qoute or anything....gaskets i know will be quite a bit probaly around 100-200 for everything tho if i can find this place where i got most of my parts it will cost a bit less.....then theres always the opil pump which is around 100+ new i have one laying around thats for the z6 thats newjust the studs for the sump are stripped outs it.....ummm water pump timing belt ofcoarse.....

Now for the fun part a head rebuild would be if you knew the right people to put the head back together at least would be about 100 or so i think if i can get my friend who helped my with mine on board hed port and polish your head aswell for some extra cash which would help nicely....now head internals those youll have to price out as well as block internalsbut as it stands with what i mentioned be ready to just shovel out 500+ just for that stuff maybe a bit less but yea if you do some work yourself then prices can go down ......and if yolur planning on turbo set aside cash for a good tune as well as turbo stuff....id just suggest doing a mild high compression build but its up to you. also i may have some z6 arp headstuds that may interest you lol ......
