#177484 ok this sounds bad but are you sure your plug wires are correctly put on the dizzy ?? this happened to me and turned out i had the plugs in the wrong firing order.....

#177488 yea pretty sure they're right i have the manual with the diagrams for the set up.

dont know if it matters but...

i drove around with a muffler that had a HOLE on it for a while but i took it off and after that i went to leave and No START.

just recently put a Transmission and Clutch in.

#177489 well unless you broke an O2 somehow ihighly doubt the muffler has anything to do with it....and if it ran fine before you did the trans/clutch then something you removed or may have hit may be causeing this to not function correctly......

(Any check engien lights if so what are they?)
By dukeblu77
#177493 i'll have to check the O2 sensor...

prior to putting in the tranny and the clutch, it would randomly die for example i was driving down the hi-way goin like 60 then i put it in neutral and applied the brakes to stop 'cuz of upcoming stop light when i was stopped it died...

for the CEL i believe is not displaying,i checked out a thread on here showing how to diagnos the CEL from the ECU...CAN I DO THAT EVEN THOUGH MY CEL ISNT CONSTANTLY ON AFTER PUT ON THE "ON" POSITION???

#177494 yea you can do that your ecu may have stored a code that can help you diagnose the problem and just out of curiosity was your car ever a automatic? somethings just telling me to ask that because it could be something with how it was converted....
By dukeblu77
#177497 alright i'll try that.

no to my knowledge its been a manual.

the guy i bought it from dropped a diff motor so its not the stock one.

everything has been good since i got it but then this happened.

Just to add some more info. if i remember correctly there has been a few times i've checked the spark plugs and there has been OIL on the threads and a little on the hook of it.

dont know if that can give us an idea of what might be the issue?

thanks for your help so far.
