#204333 this is now doing my head right in... I'm reading many other threads on other forums for diferent cars (1 being an integra forum) and a common trend seems to be a slight vacuum leak where the mani seats to the head... my gasket fell to bits so I used loctite gasket sealent paste instead. its bolted down pretty tight, could that cause the whistle and it running like a bag of ten year old turds? I cleaned it properly first?

#204370 intake manifold gasket can be a problem spot.
it has to be very clean (remove all old gasket material) to seal, and use a new one. after 2 or 3 heat cycles they turn to sh1t.
hard to clean well because its on the backside of the head.

and yes, a vacuum leak can cause motor to run like a$$.

#204381 ah crap! :x theres a lot of white smoke and has a distinct smell (as much as I dont want to admit it, it smells like coolant). also, fluid dripping from the exhaust at idle of a fair bit more when revving. Reading up on this I may have screwed the head gasket too lifting it? its still running like crap too, do you think it could be 2 separate issues?

if you didn't loosen the head bolts, your head gasket should still be ok.
it IS possible that coolant is coming in from passage(s) on the IM if your gasket is bad.
get that gasket replaced, and see how it runs.

#204474 ive been out and re checked all my levels and drained a small ammount of tranny fluid from the fill bolt, that was slightl over. spent a while making sure there is plenty of coolant and took it for a spin. after a few mins the smoke stopped!! it was still running shit and whistling so IM gasket should sort that out on saturday. heres hoping the smoke has gone for good! I didnt even know that could make it smoke till I read crap loads of forums....

ill let you know how it goes :thumb:
