#216844 so i havent posted anything in awhile but ive been noticing alot of stuff lately

sooo a couple weeks ago i changed my oil and spark plugs
taking the #2 spark plug, it was drenched in oil and i think th #3 had a little bit
so i started her up after everything and it smoked a little obviously cause oil went into the cylinder....but it smokes a little bit everytime i rev it up

another thing that i dont know if it was doing this before the oil change, what appears to be oil spits out of my exhaust upon startup and when i turn it off

anybody know if these things are connected or whats causing them, how to fix?

thanks in advance =)

#216871 Lol.
u sure it's oil or accumulated carbon with water coming out the exhaust.

Also the oil build up in your spark plug holes would be due to your spark plugs tube seals.

Did u say u had a d15b8? the tube seals on these suck bigtime because the dont go gripped in like in the d16z6's and y8's way to fix this is replace them with new obviously and use hondabond or the grey high temp permatex sealant over both sides of the sel for a better seal. that should help.

and revving and your smoking a bit. 1 could be to cold weather. and the other wold be your valve seals will need replcing soon. since honda's are known for thei valve seals always getting burned out. especially on VTEC motors..

good luck!! :thumb:

#216873 how can i tell the difference? it smells like oil, i think lol

well a friend of mine/mechanic, told me its cheaper to replace the motor because if i change the valve seals ie would need to be taken to a machine shop, thought?

LOL!!

Well tell you mechanic friend, that this mechanic said that you dont need to go to no machine shop to change the valve SEALS.. it can be done with the head attached to the block and some compressed air going into the cylinder so the valve doesnt drop...

Well oil really doesnt have a particualar smell . burnt oil there you go. the oil and smoke you might be seeing is from the excessive amount getting into the cylinder/piston itself. and for that to happen it would be alot of it and your motor wont run right... touch it and see if it's slippery on your finger... oil will remain slippery while condensation/water will evaporate on ur finger..

Condensation. Heat , humidity, air. lol it just happens. Have you purposely looked at a window and blew your breath at it and wrote something. what your breath creates on glass is somewhat like condensation. but with exhaust systems it's alot more because it's constantly blowing the hot air. and it jus sits there and you'll see it come out. it's nothing bad. happens to every car..
