- Sat Nov 13, 2010 9:44 pm #222810 does a 1994 honda civic cx hatchback d15b vtec engine have a egr valve i have recently took a emissions test in ontario and failed the HC ppm and the NO ppm does anyone have any ideas on what would make it fail ? and what iu could do to get her to pass thanks

- Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:14 pm #223015 Well the 2000 DX Coupe didn't have a VTEC engine either. I think you're in way over your head. Let's get some basic infos here to get you swimming again. How about Engine code stamp, ECU part number, details on what you know about the swap so far, anything else you think is relevant.

But, in answer to your original question, no the CX did not have an EGR.

- Mon Nov 15, 2010 5:06 pm #223023 ok well i got the serial number fromt he tranny and typed it in on a site and it brought up a 2000 honda civic dx and the guy i bought the car from said he had a motor swap didint say what or where it came from so i did that little bit of searching and found that so thats my guess of what the motor came o out of to so i have no idea on the anything about the car and the swap i just need it to pass emission she is very low idle like 500 and the vtec does not work in the car eather there is a vtec silinoild and it is hooked up and wires ran through the fire wall and into the ecu . so if the 2000 civic dx didint have a vtec what civics have a d15b vtec engine in them ?
