The B16 is 80mm bore while the D is 75mm. If you put 4 80mm cyls side by side and 4 75mm cyls side by side, the 80mm ones are going to be an overall 20mm wider, 10mm on each side. So the head will not sit evenly over all of the cylinders. The oil and coolant passages don't line up but you could have that custom machined if you had the time/money.
No articles have been done to disprove this theory because 10+ years ago people looked at a b16 head and a DOHC zc block and could tell by eyeballing it that there was no way it was going to happen. No need to spend the time documenting the differences for comparison, they're that far apart that it will never be cost effective for it to be attempted.
There's been some pretty crazy stuff done with honda motors, such as the reverse mounted h22 head swap, but B16a head on DOHC zc block has never been documented. The 2 guys in the pic you posted saying they did it both have their hood shut on the pic of their civic.
