#65325 Alot of parts on D series motors are interchangable. Main caps are something you dont want to do that with. Try and get some b7 main caps or just go out and get a block that still has them.

#65364 sorry I didn't get specific enough. I know to use b7 with b7 and y8 with y8 but what I'm asking is that do they look any different from each other? I own b7 block but i was looking for a y8 block and the y8 main caps look likes all the main caps are connected together by one piece where as the b7 are not? That is why i was wondering if someone can post pics of both?

#66056 d-series engines use a girdle that has all the caps in one piece unlike some b- series motors that use separate caps..
they all look similar but should not be mixed and matched.
d15 and d16 motors have different size crank journals so they cannot be interchanged.
you should use the girdle that came with the block unless it is damaged.

if you take a girdle from one block and use it on another it needs to be align bored by a shop, even if it is the same kind of block.
