#71625 Ok so i have searched for this for a little bit and all I can come up with is that the Y8 has a couple sensors that the Z6 dose not but it will not effect anything due to the P28 is not looking for the said sensors for this case there is the knock sensor and something else i think having to deal with the crank or something.....well anyways.....

What is the difference besides that if there is one since there seems to be no Z6 bottom ends comming into my junk yard for a little bit and there is at least 1 Y8 bottom end.

I am thinking that there really is no difference but i could be wrong. I know the combustion chamber on the Y8 head is different to the Z6 thusly allowing for a higher compression ratio when transfering the head onto the Z6 block but what if you placed a Z6 head onto a Y8 block?

If anyone has any answers for me please let me know i would really appreciate it and if anyone has ever done this before also let me know since i am interested in finding out what this will do if anything and is it worth me spending 75$ or something in the lines for the complete block with internals.
Thank you

#71628 That would be the CKF sensor aka Crank fluctuation sensor.

Oil dipstick and oil pump are different. But why don't you just use a D15B block? As long as it's not from a CX or VX. Get a 92-95 Civic DX or LX block and you'll have a better rod/stroke ratio and higher compression. Yeah, you'll lose .1 displacement, but it doesn't seem to bother people who have the JDM D15B (myself included).

#71630 Well the D15 block now there are quite a bit of those at my local junkyard just thought that the block and rods would not be strong enough in the end. much like ls/vtecs....but yea ive heard of alot of sucess with mini-me's ....so yea i dont really know the real thing i do know is this will be placed in my 1994 Civic Si that I have been working on for awhile so I just want to make sure it will be all good.....

And if you mean the JDM D15B block well its kinda hard to come by with just the block and i know they sell the whole motor for 500 or so but yea I might think about the D15 and doing a mini me to it would be easier and probaly less stressful plus i get a little high compression and I think a budy of mine has one that he might trade for all the Del sol stuff i have lol.....
