#74443 Alright guys I have a question on a full D16Y8 swap in a 93 civic CX chasis...

What have you guys done to make it run right?

I have a full Y8 swap with stock CX harness, Rewire VTEC adapter to ECU, chipped P28 to base map Y8, Rewire OBD2 to OBD1 dizzy conversion so I can run the Y8 dizzy with the CX harness. I changed the injectors and alternator from the D15B8 to the Y8 for the harness to work.

Now everytime I start the car with the Chipped P28 it runs fine no engine codes whats so ever, but once I start rolling its sluggish then at 3rpms it runs good, but have no Idea why?
Could the timing be off from the motor itself?

Also I have no engine codes!

#74468 I think it is the timing, I got a new dizzy and had it timed at a shop but I think they timed it too retarded, I just advanced it a little and it solved it. Mine was doing the exact same thing as yours. btw how did you hook up your vtec, I have a cx and i read theres some wiring to do for the o2 censor,

#74475 well I think you should upgrade probaly to a dx harness so you can run the 4wire o2 sensor it seems to me that this may be more likley the cause since that is what the p28 is looking for. or just go all out and upgrade to either a ex or si harness.....but yea thats more likley the cause since if timing was off i dont think it would run fine after 3k rpm's

Ah, that problem was easy to fix since I ordered a VTEC harness with O2 connections that pluged right up to the VTEC switch, pressure switch, and ground. Also came with a plug that the O2 pluged in from the engine Then all I did was run the colored wires to the ECU and bam done had VTEC and O2 was working properly. As you guys know the P28 was chipped for one O2 not two since only need one in the 92-95 models OBD1.

The ECU was chipped with only one O2 and the wiring was done right since I bought the kit from rywire.com. Again there is no codes flashing at all.
