#79429 My civic ever since I swaped in my z6 from a d15z1 has had a messed up idle.... I would surge or hunt really bad and idle very high... I cleaned out my fitv(and tightened it) and I also cleaned out my Iacv .... After cleaning them... My idle was waaayyyyy better.... but.... it still hunts randomly and a little bit of a high idle... sometimes the motor finds the right idle and stays there....(700 rms or something)... here is the weird thing... it happens both day and night... but way more at night..... Also.... when I decelerate in a gear going down a hill or something.. the mil light comes on and stays on... When I turn off the car.. the mil light goes away and doesnt come on until I decelerate in a gear again... (seems like a vacume change makes the mil light turn on??)

-the motor is rebuild
-has an AEM cold air intake
-everything is hooked up
-Checked a million times for any vacume leaks but nothing
-also have an ebay stainless header on.

I was wondering if the o2 sensor in the one pipe in the header would cause the weird idle.. but i dont think so...

Any clues or suggestions? Maybe i need a new IACV?? im lost..

#79455 well first off since the light is stored in the ecu id check what it says or get it to come on again and then get the code number

and try and bleed your coolant i dont know if you did that i know most people dont do this and have the same problems you are since they have air going throughout the system....

#79584 ... yeah i know i have to grab the code... i never have done it before on this civic... and i heard it was a pain in the ass to get a code for my civic hatch...

Air bubbles in the system? well This motor is new and was dry when I received it... i never did bleed the system.... Just a couple days ago i turned the screw to see if anything happened... but coolant just came out... what is the proper way to bleed the system if I may ask???? and thanks for the help :thumb:

#79589 How hard is it to jumper the two pin connector in the green sleeve beneath your glove box?!

When the car is cold, take off the radiator cap, start the car and let it warm up. Once the rad fan has come on once or twice you know it's fully warmed up and you can put the cap on. Then crack open the bleeder valve on the water neck. If a stream of coolant comes out then you're good.
