#83085 My idle is startin to piss me off.... I cleaned out my fitv and iacv to help out my horrible surging...... it helped out a little bit... but it still surges at idle only :x ... car drives fine... but at idle it surges from 1k rpms to 1.6k rpms....

My question is.... I still have my d15z1's (vx) iacv..... that was fine... could it work for a d16z6?? Im not sure due to the fact that the throttle body size of the vx motor is hella smaller than the d16z6's throttle body....

#83254 They're all the same. But it's not your IACV. You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check the FITV, your tb gasket, your vacuum hoses, etc. There's a good thread over at Hondaswap that covers all the bases.

I wanted to get rid of my test pipe and put in my magnaflow cat but now i dont want to because i dont want to kill the cat)... and code 14 is the electric idle air control valve.. haha... iono.. I checked the hoses a million times... nothing... I took apart the fitv and screwed it all the way down inside... ima go crazy...

#83537 I guess if you have a code for IACV then you should start there. Maybe it's stuck all the way open.

Hook up your IACV to a battery and test it. I suggest using an inline fuse holder for the positive. The plunger inside should move all the way out. Normally it's controlled by AC voltage but at least you'll be able to see if it moves or not.

You haven't messed with the idle adjustment screw I hope. Make sure it's not wide open.

#83610 you know... my motor is a used motor i rebuilt.... I have no clue if the previous owner messed with the idle screw.... I have not touched it at all.. how would I do if its been messed with? should i just turn it left or right completely to find out? O.o... Thanks for the info on the iacv :thumb:
