i got a problem with my mini me swap

- Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:06 am #83181 the motor will crank over but won't turn over and start im not really sure what is wrong i checked my timing and my distubiter came off my other vtec head the spark plug and wires came from my other d16z6 i think it a grounding problem but thats why im here

- Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:32 am #83189 ok well when turning over dose it have spark? if not and timing is dead on it probaly is a ground. or a loose connection somewhere. or the dist. might be bad....however id check your grounds first. and then try it again then get a buddy to see if there is spark with you turning it over and him watching if there is then you might still have a timing issue. or possibly bad compression....

- Fri Dec 12, 2008 3:25 am #83244 There's a ground on the thermostat too. Is the ecu plugged in? (I've done that one before)
Check connections on the distributor or anything else yoou unplugged to do the swap.

pull the plug wires from the spark plug and see if they are getting spark. Set them on the valve cover and have someone crank the car and see if there is an arc.

the plug wires.

if it is backfiring it could be timing off or plug wires in the wrong order.
