#87455 I was just wondering what the most boost is that you guys would recommend to someone who wants to boost a JDM D15B. It will be on all stock internals minus Skunk 2 Stage 1 Turbo Cams. I was thinking about 5-6 psi. The car will be driven quite a bit so dependability is a MUST.

#87518 I've seen stock bottom end sohc's in the 11-12psi range too, but that's pushing it, even with a good tune.

There's a lot left in the equation such as turbo size, software, mileage on motor...

Your HP goal is a more accurate way to start deciding a build. Then from there pick a turbo to go with the type of driving you'll be doing. Then get hooked and crank up the boost

#87572 Well, the turbo is most likely going to be a Bullseye Power S200 and the mileage on the motor is going to be 10-45K because we're going to be ordering a new motor for the build. Not too sure of the software yet though.

#88231 you guys need to realize that PSI means nothing, a 14b at 10 psi will make no where near the power a gt30r will at 10 psi, the weak link in these motors are the rods, they are only good to the 200 hp ballpark typically. so its always better to ask how much power can a certain set up can handle.

remember turbo A at 10 PSI will flow X amount of CFM while turbo B at 10 PSI will flow Y amount of CFM, the flow is what makes power and the power is what breaks motors. of course very high amounts of PSI can also break motors just from pressure levels under compression stroke but you get the point i hope.

#88350 Well, I am ne to this whole turbo thing. I have read a little about turbo setups and what not but I am by no means a genius when it comes to them.

So, would you recommend replacing the rods in the motor just to be on the safe side then? The turbo we are going to be using has a 50 trim compressor wheel with a 16 trim turbine wheel. So I am not sure on what we should do to be on the safe side? Thank you for your help guys, it is really appreciated.
