Getting ready for JDM D15B..

- Fri May 27, 2011 7:13 am #257010 I'm about to pick up a JDM D15b vtec :thumb: the shop i'm getting it from is giving me a 90 day warranty and has about 30k to 50k miles on it

Is there anything i should install or replace before i swap in the jdm motor? i would like to replace stuff before it goes in the car rather than later :lol:

but the main thing is the 1st 3, they will be the eziest to do

- Thu Jun 02, 2011 2:55 am #257786 as far as i know, u have to have the z6 or any usdm or carb legal intake manifold and a usdm ecu, which would be the p28 not sure on anyothers

but if you need "bar" questions
u can look up your local refree station and ask
what you need to do to get a jdm d15b vtec legal

But about the Jdm d15b those of you guys running this motor do you have stock p28 ecu or chipped with p08 basemap?
Check engine light on?

I know you can pass if you transfer all the stuff over from the d16z6, like hoses and what not. Also I ran a p28 and had no problem or engine light. Yes pretty much the jdm motors are illegal u less you put te us crap from a z6 on the d15b.

- Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:43 am #257920 all the emission bullshit put on our car lower our power, that one reason "jdm" motors are a tad faster then usdm motors and another rearson cars in europe and shit are gettin 50mpg but we get the same car with usdm emissions with 20mpg...

thats the main reason, the z6 and the d15bv are the same motor
pretty much, even the cam(for those that thing its a magical cam)
