#219018 my car isnt throwing up a CEL. it just dosnt feel right to me. like its not getting the fuel it needs. this morning i drove it around for a wile and every time i stepped on the gas, it would hesitate for a second. and then when i got home i turned it off and tried starting it again, it took a couple trys before it would start. sometimes it starts a little rough and some times it starts just fine.

i looked on Ebay for some fuel injectors and they want around $200 for them. i guess i am going to need to wait a little wile before i get them. unless you guys know a cheaper place to get them. i may be wrong, but im pretty sure that my D15B8 takes 250CC injectors.

Change your fuel filter 1st. cheaper to do,

All obd1 Honda injectors are 240cc u can use any they are all the same see some at a junk yard take em...

I seen recondioned ones on ebay for about $125.. polished and all.. just cant find them again.

#219197 awesome, thanks.

i had my fuel injectors cleaned out and the guy said that they are spraying like new again, but im still having the same problem. i am going to try a new fuel pump and see how that goes.

i put in a tripple gauge pillar and a couple gauges today. i put in a tach and a voltmeter. this car only came with a speedo, fuel, and temp cluster. so now i am able to see what im idling at. when its cold it idles around 1500, when its completely warm it idles at about 600. are these numbers ok? i was watching my rpms and it seams like i dont get any acceleration until i hit between 2000 and 2500 rpms.

here are pictures of my pillar and gauges. powerd off left, powerd on right.

im not sure what my 3rd gauge should be. i was thinking about putting a fuel pressure gauge in there. what do you guys think is an essential gauge to have?

#219201 Nice gauges!!1

Nope 600 too low. u want atleast 750-850. go to the throttle body and on the top part turn that flat head idle adjust srew to the left to raise the idle a bit.

#219203 ok, cool, i will go give that a try.

#219205 It might have some sticky rubber glue on it. scrap thaT off then turn..

#219206 does it smoke?
hows temp?
check your plugs sounds like your fowling plugs
do a compression test
stop buying parts untill you figure out the problem
try to eli inate one thing at a time
i can tell you right now its not fuel
and its more than likely not air
so that leaves one thing spark
take your cap and rotor off and look at it if it looks fowled then change it
take pictures and show us what you find

#219219 i adjusted the idle, now i am adling at about 800rpm when its warm. the screw wasnt hard to turn at all, it was actually really loose. hopefully it stays in place. i can probably put a little super glue on it to make sure it stays in place.

i did a compression test and these are the results i got....
Cyl #1 = 175lbs
Cyl #2 = 165lbs
Cyl #3 = 165lbs
Cyl #4 = 165lbs
are these results alright?

when taking the spark plugs out to do the compression test, i noticed something that seams a little odd to me. i just put brand new NGK spark plugs in. they probably only have about 10 miles on them right now. but when i pulled them out, this is how they looked....

cylinders 1 and 2 look like they have a lot of miles on them, but cylinders 3 and 4 still look brand new. i checked the spark on each plug and from each plug wire, they all sparked just fine.

i took the distributer cap off and the first thing i noticed was that there was about a 1/16" thick bit of corrosion on each stud. so i cleaned them all off. other than that the distributer looked fine.

i put everything back together and took it for a test drive. and it still drives the same. when i pres the gas it just bogs down for a little wile. it isnt until about 2500rpms that it really starts accelerating. the only thing i can come up with is that the fuel pump isnt pushing enough pressure. so im thinking about getting a fuel pressure gauge and seeing what that tells me.

i have never driven a car that only has 70HP  is this just the way the little car drives? i dont remember having this problem before the head gasket blew. im pretty sure it drove just fine before that.

#219231 Damn definately soething is happening alot more in CYL 1&2. hmmmmm Did they smell like gas at all??.. :?

#219338 hmmm i didnt think to smell them when i had them out. they look like they have burnt oil on them. but i put all new gaskets on everything when i changed the head gasket, so it shouldnt be leaking any oil into the cylinders.

im guessing the compression results are alright hahaha.
its just weird, its like vtec kicks in at 2500rpm, but i dont have vtec

i will check out the cylinders and the cat tomorrow.

what are some symptoms of your timing being off? when i changed the headgasket i took the distributor off and forgot to mark its position, how do i check that its in the right position. i pretty much just had the car running and moved it around a little each direction until i found a spot that sounded like it was idling the best.

how is the car coming along?.. Problem fixed yet..?

on your top dizzy mounting post you should see a small ingraved horizontal line ad a matchin one on he dizzy. those should match. to bring it to proper timing at th dizzy..

#220569 no progress. haha.
i am still having the same problem.
i took it on a 100 mile drive yesterday. the car is reliable and runs realy good. it just has no power at all at low RPMs. i found that if i wait until 5000RPM before i shift from 1st to 2nd, i will be at 2500RPM when i start 2nd gear. then i dont get the lag for 2nd gear. and from a stop i keep my RPMs at 2500 when i start to drive, so i dont get the lag in 1st. but that dosnt solve my problem, haha. just a little way around it.

#222250 I'm having the same problem. I just replaced a head gasket and thats when it started
