- Mon Nov 08, 2010 1:14 am #222052 I cant seem to find anyone with a p28 to borrow just to test it and I cant afford another p28 and it not be thr problem. Im gonna change injectors again to see if cylinder 3 injector is bad and if not I guess I will search for another ECU :[

- Mon Nov 08, 2010 10:35 pm #222167 Ok, so I found my timing was off by a few, but I have a problem. I have no timing cover so I have nothing to align the marks on the crank gear to. Any idea of how to align it up now? Alot of engines I have seen have a mark on the block somewhere. I know it aims right around the pulley tensioner bolt but not sure exactly where. any help would be great.

1) buy an adjustable cam gear.
2) stick something down your #1 spark plug hole so it rests on the top of the piston, then rotate your motor until the object is at its highest point, that should be close enough to your tdc, then line the cam tdc accordingly.

Id recomend an adjustable gear.

- Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:37 am #222184 check to make sure your tb is closing all the way at idle, if not check to make sure your cable is adjusted right.

EDIT: make sure your car is warmed up.

- Fri Nov 12, 2010 11:36 pm #222710 Fixed everything. Started car up and ran good. But when it warmed up it seemed to have a miss. Also there is a ringing sound kind of like an alarm from under the hood seems like a steady beep and i have no clue what it is.

is it a lil howling sound? If you adjusted the idle screw it could have given your intake more noise.. like a hopwling woooooooooooooooooooo sound..
