#223887 When I checked the CEL codes it came up with a code 92, that EVAP crap.
It doesn't throw any other codes to speak of.

For some damn reason, with my luck, it'll be something so damn simple that I'm totally over looking it. I'm probably over examining something.

I've got a couple other little things I'm wondering about as well.
When this first started I could open my gas cap, even after running for just a couple of minutes and it would make that whooshing sound, like opening a bottle of pop. It seemed to run better right after releasing the pressure so I just drilled a hole in the cap so it would stop holding pressure, probably stupid of me to do that, but like I said, it seemed to run better at the time.

I'm also wondering about grounds so I'm going to check out the service manual for there location and check them.
One more thing is a faulty O2 sensor, even though I'm not throwing a code for that. I have an extra that I can try so I'll give it a shot.

Making things worse is the cold ass weather and no place to work on the car except for the driveway outside my apartment, I hate winter. :)

#225419 Update.

Got a new main relay, after reading the other thread, and the problem is still there.
The only thing left that I can think of is the fuel pump. Any other ideas?

Coil in the Distributor could be going bad. ..

#225507 try the control module it is in the distributer cap. I had on go bad and the car did the same thing. You might try the throttle body also because the tps might be fine but the angle sensor might be going bad this just happened on my ed(four door 88-91 for those that dont know)

#237337 BUMP!

The car has been running fine for quite sometime now, I've been driving it around town without a problem.

I do, however, kind of have a new question that came up while driving home from my moms house after Christmas though.

On my way home, while driving on interstate I hit some bumps, not the kind that jar you really bad but more like when you cross a small bridge or something, and the car started acting up and I had to pull over and turn the car off and restart it then it was fine. When this happened the second time, same scenario, I concluded that something might be loose and/or moving around.

What could be loose, wire wise or anything else, that would make my car act up in this way(sputtering and no acceleration)?

#241181 i know this is an old thread. but i had a similar problem with my car at a certain speed. mainly when it would take off from a light. i would release the clutch and it would bog down really low before it would gain speed.

things i did:
replaced o2 sensor (didnt help)
cleaned iacv (didnt help, actually found code for this when i jumped my ecu the other day)
cleaned throttle body the same time as the iacv and found that the gasket was wasted and there was a rip in a section where there is a sensor. i replaced the gasket and helped dramatically.
when i bought my car the people before me didnt sell it with any sort of CAI. so i finally bought one. that helped also. im assuming a rush or air into the throttle body was really changing the way it was read the A/F ratio? (i know studies say CAI's with filters are better blah blah blah... should have been an immediate purchase, but never had the money really..)
replaced plugs and wires also.

those were my fixes and it really helped.

ill repost after i replace the iacv this coming week and say whether or not the problem im having is taken care of. .....then anyone else with this problem can possibly relate or check same parts?
