I bought a d15b but it isnt a vtec, I looked for the head code but its in japanesse i have a d16z6 vtec head i'm planning on putting it in I was goingto put it on a d15b7 block but i broke a rod and it went through the block so thats when i got the d15b just curious if anybody has ran across a head like this? Tomorrow i'm pulling off the head to do a deeper inspection.

I probably sound stupid, but the reason why the d16z6 is probably more expensive is because its a little harder to get one compared to a d15b. Also, the d16z6 is a legal motor in the U.S, the d15b isnt since it was never sold in America. I personaly think the d16z6 rules over the d15b, but everyone has their own view

That doesn't sound stupid at all. You probably nailed it right on the head. Pricing is a business decision, pure and simple.
I can think of plenty examples of things that are cheaper AND better.
