 < Can I make this any bigger?

Jackson Racing makes a supercharger kit for D series motors.

#127653 cool i know that they make them for b series but i dont know anyone who has done them on d series... i have a friend that had a supercharged b18

#127690 Yep jackson racing supercharger is also for the D lol

But other than that to make a z6 faster without boost or spray...your looking at a decent chunk of change in a rebuild to boost up the compression. which dose tend to kill gas mileage and such thats why id just prefer a turbo.....good gas mileage when you want it and power when you want that as well....

But a decent high compression Z6 could involve but would not be limited to
P29 pistons (high dome design from the DOHC ZC)
shave the head and deck the block
Aftermarket cam
Thicker rods to handle the stresses
Y8 head possibly since the Y8 has a different structure in the combustion chamber allowing for better compression.

Etc.....but like i said turbos in my book and a good tune with one will do better in the long run than other things...or at least thats my veiw

#127698 Making n/a Power isn't cheap. especially on D Series.

Having your car super charged will put the same amount of stress on your engine that a Turbo will. Turbos will give you more power for your money as they are cheaper.

Someone posted on this site and homemadeturbo a stand alone supercharger that ran through an intercooler like a Turbo, however had an on/off switch using a/c. I think the super charger was from a toyota privia. That could make a Super charged setup alot cheaper then buying a Jackson Racing super charger.

I had nitrous on my D16z6, It had 260k on it and I was shooting nitrous on that for a long time. If you want quick and easy power then nitrous is the way to do it, Get good fuel economy w/o nitrous, a B or H or K Swapped EG/EK/DC Rolls up next to you, flip the switch and stop it down.

As long as your nitrous is tuned properally it will run just fine. When I was spraying nitrous i never had any issues besides my OEM style clutch slipping.

#127731 JRSC cars are lame. waste of time. Turbo cars will not break if you do it right. You will get more power and better tunability from a turbo car.

The JRSC will also give you so much heat soak you wont need the heater in your car, you can get warm from just the supercharger.

also limited to very low boost.
the JRSC does not allow for and intercooler. creates lots of heat.
might get you to 180-190hp
turbo, if done right and tuned well is very reliable. (on a d-series)

#127883 It doesn't matter if your car makes power using nitrous, n/a, viagra or whatever. Power is power and will affect the engine the same way. I'm speaking in terms of how much power an engine can handle before it stops working as it was intended ie it starts shooting pistons through the block and/or bending rods etc.

You can't put any random supercharger on a Honda because Honda engines rotate backwards.

Endyn had a supercharger kit for D series that was incredible in every way (just like everything else Endyn makes). Unfortunately they stopped making them.

You don't often see intercoolers on superchargers because they're usually integrated into the intake manifold, while a turbo is usually bolted right to the exhaust manifold so it can absorb the heat and make power. Then you have your air tube running from there to the intercooler and then to the intake manifold.

#127987 and with a supercharger power is right there waiting but have to wait for a turbo to spool....thats the big arguement i always hear

#127989 you really only have horrible turbo lag with a bigger turbo, and the dual scroll turbos have virtually no lag

well i agree with all of this. JRSC will roast your feet!!! haha no joke. they are fun and sound sexi as hell but the money spent can be put to a turbo.

turbo is the way to go. good power, reliability, fuel efficiency and if build/tuned right there wont be turbo lag.

you will not be disappointing with TURBO!! :thumb:
