i have been looking everywhere online to find these and suddenly got confused.....

this guy says this
[quote] Cylinder Head Bolts for D16Z6
Step 1....22ft lbs
Step 2....53ft lbs
Cylinder Heads...All D ARP Studs
Step 1......15ft lbs
Step 2......30ft lbs
Step 3......62ft lbs[quote]

but the d-series torque specs on this web site says 22lbs then 43lbs

thats a huge difference and now im scared

WHAT IS THE CORRECT TORQUE SPECS FOR THE Z6 CYLINDER HEAD WITH ARP HEAD BOLTS:shock:

and don't forget to re-torque after heat cycling the ARP's - the directions should have the specifics on that as well :thumb:

ya see my directions suck...they just say to use the arp assembly lube only to insure torque properly...ima look this stuff up on google cause im pretty sure my instructions say torque to 70ftlbs but eberybody else has said only 62ftlbs and then the instructions dont say anything at all about heat cyclings and retorquing. im gonna reread my instructions tommrow and double check the 70ftlbs things but im pretty sure thats what it says. if any of you havve a better way to install these suckers let me knoow...as of now im gonna put the arp lube on the studs and tighten them into the block roughly hand tight then 3step torque the nuts on with the head.and after heatt cycling the pistons rings(breaking in the motor) retorque the arp bolts to 62 again. let me know if thats wrong thanks

i would not go too high on the torque.
aluminum is not the strongest metal.
its not hard to pull the threads out of the hole by over tourquing.
never heard anybody complain of head lift at 62 foot pounds.
even at 20+ psi.
My instructions say use the ARP lube or 30w motor oil.
torque to 60foot pounds if your are using the ARP lube.
if you use something else, 62 foot pounds
