i bought a new disributer without the cap and rotor ...i was going to use the old cap and rotor but i broke it off....will the distributer still work with out the rotor

Dippin_EG is correct. You will not have any spark at all. Crank all you want, it will not turn over.

well ima buy the rotor tommorow and see if i can get the timing right :thumb:

get a new cap and rotor for a new dizzy. dont be cheap.
