Valve cover grommets.

Any one ever got new valve cover bolts and grommets for their z6, how the hell do u get the new grommets thru the bolts. im thinkin of slicing a cross on the rubber part with a razor blade but i believe it would leak a bit. any ideas?. that skirt on the bolt itself makes is so damn hard to get it thru.. =[

anyone??.. im sure someone has change the valve cover gasket on their D series some time..??

I have just got new bolts with the rubber things already installed. Did you try using some lube like WD40 or similar?

I wouldn't slice them. If anything heat them up a little so they are more pliable then lube the bolts and run em on there. be careful not to burn them or warp them. (obviously) use a heat gun or good blow dryer

I got a new vc / gromet kit a bit ago for my old car. The rubber was already in the new washer lookin things for on top.
Just lube em up like teal_dx said, it should help.
