A Skunk2 Intake Mani will be better then your stock intake.

All 88-00 D Series Intake Manifolds are exchangeable.

If your planning on staying with a D Series for a long time to come then it would be a good idea. Especially if a Minime is in your future.

However if you plan on swapping in anouther Series of engine. Then it would make more since to keep saving up for your swap.

on a side note, the d15b8 head isn't compatible with any other intake manifold, I'm pretty sure the vx model isn't either.

not too sure about that....

All D series 88-00 have the same IM bolts. D15b8 and D15z1 have some of the most restrictive smallest IM's though, so you wouldn't want to put one on your D.

i know for a fact the d15b8 is different from the d15b7 the water port on the head is on opposite sides, ill post up some pics in a few.

edit here are some links to autozone.com, intake manifold gaskets.

d15b8, notice the water port is on the right in this pic.

d15b7,z6 or any other 16 valve engine. notice the water port is on the left.

thats a possibility, but they both require different gaskets so idk.
