d16z6 throwing code 9 cyp could it make my car stutter

my d16z6 kind of stutters when it takes off you can feal it wanting to pull but its kind of slugish up until about 3.5k then it just pulls out of it and pulls like it should checked the engine light threw a code 9 cyp could that make my hatch run the way its running? any thoughts

Code 9 is "No.1 Cylinder Position Sensor"

Yes you will want to fix that. If your car is stuttering it can beat your bearings badly which can lead to rod knock. I would highly recommend a qucik repair on these.

replace the dizzy, erase code, set timming. and your good
same problem, easy fix

ok well iv been looking around and everywhere says to do the same thing replace the dizzy and set timming now am i supposed to set the timing like redo the timing belt or what?

the timing belt is the mechanical timing. be sure everything is at TDC and you're good there.
When they say 'reset timing' or 'check timing' they mean to check the ignition timing with a timing light.
Your Chiltons/Haynes manual will give you all the details on how to do this, or there was a thread not too long ago on here explaining how I think...
