When he`s trying to spin it to the right position, it doesn`t work properly and starts to detonate...

is your timing (mechanical, not ignition) lined up properly? Was everything at Top Dead Center when installing the timing belt?

I'm wondering if you're having to retard the ignition timing in order to compensate for an advanced mechanical timing (timing belt possibly off a tooth?)

Also are you 100% sure you have a D16z6 Distributor - Are all 3 distributor bolts able to be lined up?

With the way you have it set in the picture, does the car run perfect or still not good?

here's a snap shot of how we had to modify the stock dizzy (from the D16A6) to work with the Z6 head.
The engine was a D16A6 and the timing belt was from a Z6. Notice the nothces made.

I thought you were asking how to control vtec. They make vtec controllers, but they are not good. The p28 is the best vtec controller because the ecu has all the proper air/fuel maps to use when in vtec :thumb:

There is your problem, you need a Z6 distributor. Best way to do this is to convert the car to OBD1

I think he has the z6 dizy in the first post, but he has to retard the timing so much to keep it from knocking that the bolt holes won't line up.

The other dizzy pic was showing what he had to do to make the a6 dizzy work.

correct :?

Ylts, when you were adjust the z6 dizzy the first time, where you doing it by listening for detonation or using a timing gun?

Before Tranny give up engine run With OBD0 stuff, because other cars had frost damages.

When adjust dizzy place where it have to be, hear detonation knock 26´ Before TDC, on picture 16´ Before TDC
