Question about d15z1

ok my first question whats the differeance between vtec-e and vtec. What are some inexpensive mods that i can do to my d15z1 to get more power. I know that air intake,headers, and exhaust are some stuff i can do but what else? :o

just save up for a swap and enjoy the EPIC gas mileage in the meantime.

1) Well you should ask, what are the similarities? There are almost no similarities between the two except how they are triggered.

VTEC-E is a switch from 12 valve mode to 16 valve (intake valves) mode that occurs low in the RPM when you're heavy on the throttle.

VTEC is a switch from a mid range cam profile to a high rpm cam profile that occurs in the high RPM.

Two completely different things with completely different purpose.

2) There are no mods worth doing to a Z1 to increase hp.
