#164821 Okay so I found a dohc zc swap for sale locally and I
was wondering how easy it would be to put in my eg hatch
will it bolt up to any d-series tranny? How well will it handle
boost when built? Any tips and help will be very appreciated.

#164823 being a d series it should bolt right in, get an ecu with it. stock wiring harness should work, plus you dont have to wire vtec :D seems like a decent swap, had a sohc zc in my old eg. havent seen too many dohc zc's before tho.

#164854 the zc is a very boost friendly motor... and A few D-series variants are labelled (Japanese: Honda ZC engine) (usually JDM), but they are not truly a different series.

There are both SOHC and DOHC ZC engines.

The non-VTEC SOHC ZC is similar to the D16A6 ('91 - '96) and D16Y4 ('96-2000) engine, but with more aggressive cam timing.

The VTEC SOHC ZC is identical to the D16Z6.

The DOHC ZC is similar to the D16A1, D16A3, D16A8, D16A9 and D16Z5 engines.

So any d tranny will fit.

just make sure its obd1 it would make it easier to do the swap. tho a 88-91 dohc zc will work as well just would need to swap the drivers side mount.

for aftermarket stuff check out

zcspeed.com

they make a adapter for the intake manifold since the dohc zc is well unique in the way that you can only use a dohc zc intake with a dohc zc intake unless you get that adapter plate then your golden......

you can use integra ls cam gears but you will have to adjust the timing marks on them.

also check out

Thezcr.com

awseome site for dohc zc stuff.....

now.....im gonna say this.
Ive been playing with the idea of a dohc motor right now i have a ls swap in my shed low mileage. but im more thinking about getting a dohc zc since the transmissions are cheaper and i like boost lol....but yea ive done alot of research on the dohc zc

i think d-series.org....i might have asked in the dohc zc section what parts are interchangeable im pretty sure i did and there are alot of parts you can use off other motors on the dohc zc so you can make it work correctly....
