Is it a good idea to put a turbo on a d15b vtec with stock internals? What else might I need to do to accomplish?

its possible id suggest getting a good tune because thats going to save you from killing your motor quickly...

but it also depends on how many miles your motor has on it
how much boost and what turbo and manifold etc you are going to run as well...

this is the kit i was thinking about. just about 5-7 lbs boost for now. i'm not for sure about the mileage on the engine. I traded my 94 Caddy STS for this thing in september.

you'd be better off keeping an eye out on CL and local forums and what not.

what part of indiana you in? i always see kits on Indy CL for good prices. theres a few goin for good prices around me.

I had purchased a similar kit to what you have pictured and once i got it and carefully inspect everything, there was just too many flaws so back it went. dont waste your time with it. So many people sell better used kits for the same price :thumb:

well if your only going to go with that much boost id suggest building your own turbo kit....itll be cheaper than that and your turbo will be alot more reliable i have heard nothing but bad stuff about ebay turbo;s but yea....

build your own turbo kit what you would need would be
a honda civic crx hf/std/vx/cx manifold
adapter plate depending on the turbo you choose to use
a turbo depending on your adapter plate
intercooler piping and intercooler either side moutn smaller or front mount larger.....

a good site to check out is.
homemadeturbo.com

here are some of their projects
http://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_projects/

and well yea id just look at it that way since yea its a decent kit comes with everything except injectors, and well a tune and stuff like that

if you peice together a turbo kit youll probaly need nomore than 3-400 depending on intercooler and turbo

may be a bit more work and research than just buying a whole kit off ebay but in the end it will save you money and heck if i could save 5 dallors and still have something that in the end i could feel proud of id save that 5 dallors....
