does anyone know how i would go about this i want to rebuild before i move because im not to sure if i would make it to conneticut?

well if you are mechanically incllined then buy a rebuild kit and go for it
just buy a hanes or chiltons manual before you start
why do u think ur car wont make it?
how many miles aree on it if its not superhigh i would sugest just a tune up

well you could wait and just go ahead and snag a cheap low miles d 15b7 and go ahead swap motors and just transport the z6 where your moving....since unless you have id say depending on how busy your shops are about a good month process to completely rebuild your motor .....

but if you do decide to rebuild it id get rings, depending on how your pistons are new pistons same with rods, along with rod bearings get your crankshaft block etc tested and machined....then reasemble with new rear main seal, oil pump, awater pump, timing belt and tensioner....and assemble the bottom end....

top end wise id take your head to a machine shop and see what they think your springs etc can be reusable just may need to be cleaned up and if youve never torn down a head there are alot more parts than you think......so id suggest having them rework the head if possible.....

once thats done new cap rotor for your dizzy and new clutch kit

there are many parts im sure i left out but to be honest id just go out and find a 150-200 tops d15b7 someone has laying around maybe even cheaper.....that has decently low miles and was treated well...heck i got my rebuilt b7 for 200 so yea id just suggest looking for stuff like that itll be cheaper in the long run to just go that route you can probaly sell themotor or keep it when you get to where you need to be while you rebuild your z6 or something

yeah i think because the meter stopped working at 217XXX since the cluster is broken sometimes well i really want a swap but if a rebuild is cheap i rather do that and buy a swap wherever i move to.

Do some serious research to decide if you can tackle this project. With that kind of mileage, you'll most likely need some machine work done too. Cylinder Hone for sure and possibly a more if they are any out of round. Possibly micropolishing the crank depending on it's condition. Now for bearings, you can use the color coding system by Honda and check with plastigauge, but last I checked they didn't even make all of those bearings anymore. So if you go with aftermarket, such as ACL, you'll need micrometers that measure to one-thousandth of an inch.
Is your motor knocking or smoking or consuming oil?
