d15b question

hey guys i was brushing the snow off my car today n open the hood to make sure nothing was living in there... i looked at the block to see what d motor was in there the stamp said D15b.. now i have looked around and there are so many differt types of d's.. my question is what one is this? :?

If its just d15b. Then you have a jdm engine, pretty gooed one too :thumb:

ok thanks now some more questions
1. there is oil every where and i wanna change all the gaskets what do i get..
2.how would this run with a jackson racing super charger running at 5psi i think not 100%

Its a d15b non vtec . Where exactly is it leaking from ?

d15b theres vtec and a non vtec. 3 kinds of usdm non vtec, and obd2 2stage vtec.obd1 is just like the z6 with a 3mm difference in piston clearence and has more aggressive cam.

d15b is the same as the usdm d16z6 it just has more agressive cams... so it has vtec


Yea it is but clearly in his pic the spark plugs are on the intake side of the valve cover soo.. that would make it non vtec. Not to mention there is a non vtec d15b found in 88-95 civics .

from the valve cover i think if you look by the timimg cover you can see the oil

When you change the valve cover gasket be sure to put sealant silicone around the moon shape ends or problem will persist :thumb: .

Use Honda bond. It's the shiz and it's not expensive.

yup thats where the vtec soleniod would be if u had vtec but you dont soo i have no idea why someone but a blockoff plate there
