hello i am getting a 2001 civic 4 door auto trans in a month. i am taking the motor in case my stock D15 blows up or dies from the km it has. the 01 civic has a D17 with only 130,000km. will that motor bolt up to my trany? how much work would it be to but that motor in my 95 hatch?

You can use the D17 internals to make a stroked D16, but i don't know of anyone trying D17 internals in a D15 yet.
It's the same 75mm bore, the extra displacement is from the stroke.

You could swap a z6 head on a d17 block with some machine work (oil holes don't line up)
And there's an issue with the crank pulley not fitting right.

But it has been done.

I have never seen the whole motor swapped in an EG though.
