more than likely yea its running in limp mode if it wont go past 3k do you have any check engine lites?.....it also migh be the dizzy or tb but id check either the dizzy or the ecu first what dizy(distributor) are you running if its the vx one then you should be all right if it fits that is if not id get a d15b7 but if its a obd2 dizzy your running thats why its running in limp mode because your distrib. should match your ecu's obd....

but yea check for engien lights and get back to use...

i dont know of any wat to convert a distributor you can make an adapter harness but normally you will have to go ahead and use teh obd2 ecu since the adapter harness is mainly thre for the connection for the obd1 harness.....id get a cheap d15b7 dizzy and see what that dose more than likely that will solve your problem but read the codes its in the diy section on teh main page right curser down a bit and youll see it tell us what codes are showing and we can help you out...

most likley.
i would use a d15b7 distributor, z6 harness and a p28 ecu, if i was doing the same swap.

Did you do a proper OB2 to OBD1 conversion.

That could be your problem.

Check out Rywire for OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harnesses. Or I'm sure you can find plenty of DIYs online.

no i did not do the conversion properly im tryin it again today. i been doing my reaserch and it seems to be on that limp mode i hope its that. now if i run my stock computer it will still give me issues cause of the sensors right?

if your vx is 92-95, it is already obd1.
using d15b7 distributor because it is obd1.
also your vx harness will want 2 distributor plugs, not one like the y8.
keep your old alternator.
you may have to wire your vtec with the vx harness.
