#183182 So, I just got my first car, and im building it, it's a 95 civic SI hb with a D15B, im just trying to find out if the D15B vtec will wire into the stock SI computer with no problems.

Also, if anyone knows what kind of HP i'll be looking at with D15B, Cold air intake, header, and new exhaust, it would be appreciated.

#183402 JDM motors don't have VTEC oil pressure sensors so you will either need to swap the oil pressure sensor, the entire VTEC solenoid, or join the VTEC pressure sensor wire to the VTEC wire.

You will also need a vacuum T to put on your fpr vacuum hose so you can run it to your purge control solenoid. Then find a way to mount your purge control solenoid. Most people use a zip tie. Or you can swap to a USDM D16Z6 intake manifold.

Other than that the Z6 ECU will run the motor perfectly. The motors are virtually identical except the D15B has slight differences in the block and the cam giving it a slight boost over the Z6.

Wheel horsepower realistically will be just above 100hp. I/H/E really don't give you that much hp... and they don't give it all to you right at the peak hp.

#183514 not to challenge you suspendedhatch
buttttt my jdm d15b has a vtec pressure switch :?
and i have run it without the purge controll valve with no problems and no cels
so how important is that purge controll valve?

#183523 Challenge away. It doesn't bother me. We should always try to have the best info and not worry about stepping on each others toes.

Purge control solenoid is very easy to hook up. It's worth it just to avoid the rotten smell penetrating into the cabin and to get the 3 or so mpg.

i have seen then with or with out :? two of my friends ordered h22's and another one ordered a d15b none came with oil press switches, but were threaded and just had a small round head bolt in them, then anoter boy ordered a itr swap and it wasnt even threaded for an oil pressure switch, it was just solid cast there...

but i have seen other people order a jdm gsr or b16 and they have switches in them...

#183648 Why would you go to the dealer for something that is so common and so cheap you can just pocket it at the junkyard?

So effortless to have on there it really is pure laziness not to. And I know I'm the only one here with a conscience but that's our environment... go visit Tijuana if you want to see what it's like when no one gives a shit about air quality.

Plus it kind of runs counter to the Honda philosophy. Honda = smart power. Domestic = big and sloppy.

All the JDM motors I've seen have had no VTEC pressure switch but I don't doubt you guys... nor do I understand the inconsistency.
