im trying to build a high cr build for my d
around 11 is perfect
try to stay on a budget a tight one on that note
here is what i have to work with i basically dont wanna buy any more motors i just wanna use what i have and buy new rings and bearings as needed
a d16z6 block pistons are bad rods and crank are good needs bearings and pistons with rings
complete d15b jdm trying to keep it together as long as possible as this is my dd so i could use the d15b head but the block needs rings
complete d15b7 needs rings and bearings and a valve for the head
should i just do a stock rebuild on the d15b7 and throw the jdm head on it shave the head like .020 and call it a day?
any sugestions welcome :thumb:
will be starting the motor build in a few weeks whatever i decide to do?

th link i posted in your other thread has everything you need for the d16z6 block.
you can try other pistons, you don't have to use the z6 pistons.
they also have kits for the d15b7.
since the b7 has the tallest (gasoline) pistons, any other would lower compression.
the d15b vtec can use z6 rings, d16 rod bearings, d15 main bearings and thrust bearings.
there's more to making power than just having the highest compression.
you can try different combinations here:

yeah
i think i might just go for an oem rebuild and shave the head for a bit higher compression
i think an oem rebuild for the b7 and put the vtec head on it and shave the head like .020 thats like 10.5 to 1 i think thats good enough for me :thumb:

that's a good idea, b7/z6 mini-me.
if you find you like building motors, then try something more ambitious.

Endyn roller waves.

You can run ridiculous compression ratios on street gas and not detonate. He does this by shoving the fuel mixture to the hot exhaust side and tumbling it so it all ignites together evenly. Because detonation is basically random and inconsistent ignition that begins before it's supposed to.

d15b7/z6 mini me and the JDM d15B VTEC are pretty much the same motor with different pistons (at least as far as the applications you are talking about go). Difference will be b7/z6 mini me has flat topped pistons (hence the higher CR) and the JDM D15B has a slight dish to the pistons (lower CR).

When you get into aftermarket support then they become difference animals.
