ok i picked up a 91 ef. car ran for about a month then one day nothing just cranking. checked fuel filter for pressure and plugs for spark and its all there and checked timing.. what am i missing? someone said crank sensor can go bad and not tell the ecu to "fire" injectors. i used to get a cel after about 10 min of driving.if it helps thanks

if you havent reset the ecu the check eng code should still be there check that out....more than likely you have the dpfi motor this is pretty much a glorified carb setup...unless it has the mpfi swap on it so possibly if its the mpfi set-up then your looking at a possibly bad resistor box if still obd0 or a bad injector setup......
now it could be your crank position sensor, next it may be your injectors,,,,dpfi=2 mpfi=4 check the resistance etc....
next id look into your compression being that its an 91 it may not be that great.....so you may not have enough to start....

give it a bump start. see what happens. 9 times out of 10 it will run, then you can narrow down the possibilities.

bump start like with starting fluid? thats a good idea ill give it a try. it has four injectors. what should they read when i check them and how exactly do i check with volt meter?

motors need 3 things to start
*fuel
*spark
and compression
but it could be alot of things
the starter could be bad or there is a bad fues somewhere
but if everthing is good
i would do a compression check and go from there
but who knows it could be someting simple

lol i mean bump start as in give it a push had drop the clutch to start the car from rolling.
see if that gets it running. if it does is ignition problem.
if not then air or fuel.
