All right im almost a hundred perecent positive his car is an ex ive only spoke to him over the phone but from what he described to me i.e. sunroof factory power everything....and seeing how from what ive researched lx's didnt get sunroofs till 94-95 im concludeing this is a 1992 honda civic ex 4dr.....auto

But anyhow has some problems and i have some ideas but im wondering if you guys may know of anything else it might possibly be.....

So he explains sometimes it will run fine but then (im thinking when she heats up)during the drive or when he gives it some gas it bogs down and sometimes starts running rough stalls out and wont start......

So my first thought fuel issue?....
His father recently replaced the fuel filter so yea and since its running im thinking no need for fuel pump issues as it wouldnt start perod if that was the case or be drivable....

So now my thought is the Dizzy (cant remember the peice its called that tends to go in our cars but yea im thinking its that....) or plug wires arching out possibly not a 100% sure im giving him a link to this site but yea he might give me the job of working on it and i wish to check everything i possibly can or at least inform him to the best of my abilities. so if anyone else has any suggestions please let me know....

Thanks

P.s. yes he has a check engine light im going to see if he can get me the code etc...

no LX model in the USA had a sunroof.. i have a 94 lx and no sunroof, only the EX did..maybe the LXi or something like that.. :thumb:

if possable check the o2 sensor, it might be lazy and tellin the ecu the wrong thing so the ecu compsates for the lazy o2 which can cause the car to act up, i had this kinda problem and i replace the o2 and it ran fine :thumb:

like teal said, id get the CEL code first, but the piece your thinking of is your ignitor or (ignition module is what domestics call it), this will cause the problem your describing, i have seen them work fine till the vehicle warms up and when the ignitor gets heat in it, it starts to break down and will not run, and when its completely bad the car wont start at all, not to mention honda has its cam, crank, and cly. no1 position sensor, and the inj timing sensor in the dist..... so if the dist is your prob it will leave the car dead in its tracks... i have had a dist say the inj. timing sensor was bad and the car still run tho lol  it acutlly ran fine, just had a cel light, but i only ran it no more than a week once that happend... hope this helps :thumb:

I had this happen in my Accord.

But I agree with the other guys. CEL first, then find out from there.
