so ive got a d15b7, and today i was cruizin and i braked kinda hard while downshifting into 1st and noticed that my oil light was kinda flashing on and off, it was only for a split second, so i started driving again, and i was trying to see if i could get it to turn on again, so i was braking irratically and hard, and i got it to flash once, so i was wondering does this just mean its almost time to change it, oh btw its been at least 3000 miles since last oil change

the oil light means low oil pressure = add oil asap! You were probably sloshing the oil around your oil pan when braking which means the pickup was not getting any oil to the oil pump. Driving around with oil that low is a quick way to ruin an engine - Don't drive until you add oil and check it with the dip stick.

ps. you shouldn't downshift into first... It's really hard on the transmission

If you're rolling a couple mph like you're about to come to a stop it's OK, but if you're in second and want to downshift to go fast followed by dropping the clutch and mashing the gas, then that is hard on the trans.
