mini swap question si cylinder head or ex cylinder head

im looking to do a mini me swap on my dx... do i get the cylinder head of a civic si? or civic ex? iv read the mini me swap and it says D16Z6 Cylinder Head but is that from a si or ex? im new to this and am very lost cus my friend crashed his ex and is selling me the cylinder head from his car for cheap but idk if i need the si one or ex one.. lol sorry about the confusing question but im confused myself.. thanks

the d16z6 came in both the SI and EX.... just make sure its a d16z6.

pretty much any dseries sohc head will work but the ones that are the best are the y8 and z6...

si and ex use the same head, d16z6 :thumb:
To take the head off, remove the header, intake manifold, the valve cover & timing belt cover. De-tension the timing belt and slip it off. Remove the 10 head bolts in the proper order & torque procedures.
I'd spend the $20 on a Helms/Chiltons manual if you don't have one. they tell you the torque sequence and how much to tighten each bolt. Also how to do timing belt, water pump, head gasket, pretty much everything you'll want to do when you do your mini-me build :thumb:

I've always wondered if you could pick up a helm's manual locally for these cars? Or is it an amazon/egay item?

I'm actually talking about a Helm's manual... no one seems to sell them... :?

You can find them on craigslist if you get lucky for like $5!
