So I threw a rod a few weeks ago in my 92 Honda civic si hatch and so the head was still good and I ended up sourceing a d15b7 block, so I did the mini me. My question is since my car already came with a vtec motor will I still be able to pass smog if I just changed the block and put new gaskets and a new timing belt?

Well I live in Cali and we all kno how strict Cali is. Also I was wondering what 2 different types of timing I need to do to get the motor dialed in properly? I adjusted the distributor

thats how you adjust the timing, assuming the timing belt is on rite, for the egs the timing is 16 degress +/- 2 degress.. but ya you should pass the number part, just make sure all your aftermarket parts are carb legal :thumb:

cause the damn laws are so strict, is the reason my motor is stock, i hate livin in cali, but you live up in nor cal, i herd the emissions arent as strict as down here in so cal...
:x

I heard there were 2 diff timings. Like one for the timing belt an another for something else or am I wrong. Sorry if I sound like a complete noob

you need an adjustable timing gear to make up for the 1/2 tooth difference when putting a d16z6 head on a d15b7 block. I think a y8 timing gear might work too...
