What could be wrong with my engine?

My car will sputter into every gear and it has new spark plugs and a new distributor cap and rotor, oil changed, new ECU, new fuel filter. After I put in the new fuel filter it ran a lot better but then started to sputter and go slow again, it is almost impossible to drive and the check engine light comes on, but autozone and everyone can not check the engine light because their equipment is only good for cars 1996 and up.

Bam we have a DIY for our cars its as easy as counting really more than likely it could either be your O2 an faulty injector or something like that id check the code first and then that should more than likely fix the problem...

on mine, theres only one at the end of my header right before were the cat would be.. not sure if D's are different.

start from the header and start going down along the exhaust, it will be the first one you come across. should be a easy fix

I'm confused now, there is a sensor on my header and i disconnected it to see if it would read it as the oxygen sensor 1 but it turns out the sensor on my header is the Primary oxygen sensor heater, not oxygen sensor #1.

you have a heated o2 sensor, that 1 sensor can throw 2 codes, if your gettin a o2 cel just replace the o2..

the heater part of the 02 heats up the air to help get the cat converter hot faster so it can do its job faster

and the other part just reads the air to adjust the a/f ratio :thumb:

soo there your 101 on eg's o2 sensor(not all of them the vx has 5 wires not 4) :thumb:
