d15b7 making vtec sounds?????

ok so i KNOW i have a d15b7 with no vtec, but sometimes when i get up past about 4000rpms it makes a sound like vtec is kicking in, although there is no sudden burst of speed like with vtec, so im just wondering if anyone knows what this means, its been doing it for awhile now,, and i just kinda ignored it (probly not the best idea lol)
so if anyone has any knowledge of whats going on i would appreciate it, thanks

thats just around the point where the b7 starts makin power. its peak power is between 5000 and 5900 rpms
# Power : 102 hp (76.1 kW, 109 ps) @ 5900 rpm (102 hp @ 5900 rpm in U.S.)
# Torque : 98 ft·lbf (13.5 kg/m, 133 Nm) @ 5000 rpm

All My D15b7's have done this as well.
I had one that Burned oil pretty bad and randomly I would get a huge power gain and the engine sounded like it hit VTEC. It left a huge stream of oil behind and was probably a cylinder cleaning out but it was kinda cool.

just be saving money on the side for a Z6 for once she blows. you get it tuned right, she'll take 150-180whp all day long. I've heard the rods start bending around 210whp.

lol mine does that 2! im drivin then when i get past 4000rpm it sounds wicked! haha im afraid to go over 4000rpm coz im afraid my engine will blow coz i have no mods lmfao
