what are the advantages and disadvantages, and is it even worth it for a d motor

IMO.... they sound horrible
spend the money on a nice full exhaust, you'll be glad you did. my buddy has a $600 buddy club test pipe on his 13 second all motor B... and it sounds like complete ass

oooo, but in terms of power gains, is it worth it. i have a stock like muffler its relatively quiet so i dont really mind the noise 2 much

if your staying all motor, i think the test pipe might actually hurt your power. it needs a little back pressure..

Ok, so I should stick to a free flow cat, or a resonator as opposed to a test pipe?

yup.
i got a friend with a header, resonator, and a tanabe exhaust on his D that sounds great.

imo test pipes arent worth it
i my buddy put a test pipe on his s2k, wit the f22
and he only gained 2hp
and if you get pulled over nd a cop sees a test pipe, there is a ticket,
is a 200+ dollar ticket worth 2hp??
