Just bought a D16Z6 today upgrading from a D15B7 big difference in power that i will notice right away?

yup. especially if your swapping the tranny too

I would recomend puting a D16Y8 tranny. I when I had my SoHc I put that tranny and I loved it way better then the old one.

no its not ^^^^^^^^^^^ they look the same and have the same stamp but the gears are not the same

2nd gear is barely different...

Honestly, the only good difference is the steel shift forks in the y8 trannys.

The tranny on the y8 is differnt the forks are stee. And the z6 has aluminum forks so the y8 can take a better beating then the z6

Another question i have to ask, whats the kind of cheapest way to rebuild it? like just to stock. Motor has around 300xxxkm on it dont know if it burns at all but whats the best route to rebuild?

You paid $300 for a 300k motor? That's an expensive paper weight.

Best way to rebuild a D-series is to throw it in the trash and get a JDM one for $500.

But that doesn't help you so... order up some high comp pistons and a cam and take it to a shop.

lol thats expensive? Ecu, tranny, axles, block, head, dizzy. I was going to do a mini me swap but that was pushing me over 500 trying to find stuff still.
