coolant problem

my stepdad just got 2 95 coupe's for a $1000. one hit a deer but runs great other looks great but has a coolant problem, i havent got to check them out yet but from what he told me when you start it up after a few seconds it starts blowing coolant out like a fountian lol.. i was just wondering if any1 had an idea what could cause this? we are gonna part this one out just wanting to see if i should keep the motor and rebuilt or just sell it. he said it is vtec. i will know more about it within the next week or so when we get it here. rearend blewout on the truck so cant get the trailer out to get it lol. sorry for the long post just want input on what could make it blow coolant out of the radiator and overflow tank.. thanx

leaky or shitty colant hoses would be my guess
as long as the motor runs its still good imo

Blown headgasket or worse.
Combustion chamber pressure pushing out through the coolant system.

i was told it may be the head gasket, but wanted some input. ill know more when i get the car to the house. when i get it home ill check it out, and i may just keep the motor to build up for my sedan.

yeah i had a similar problem it was the head was warped and the head gasket was shot. replacing the head isnt all that hard but it is time consuming.
hope you solve the problem
but as said before it could be a coolant hose thats gone out.

i serisoily doubt its a headgasket
if it pours like a fountain
where is the coolant commming from
idenitfy where its commming from and we will be able to help with better answers

i will know more when i get it home, my stepdad told me it shoots out of the radiator not a solid pour but like its pumping. if the cap is on it does it in the overflow.

head gasket.
it sprays even worse when you have a turbo and headlift :p
