which d series good to boost....

like the topic say...whats the best or good d series engine to boost? i wanna stay with the d, and if i boost it i wanna go for around 250 to 270hp...so yea any ideas...

you would have to build the bottom end of all of them so it doesnt really matter..

i hear alot bout the z6 and the y8...if you guys would pick one which motor would u guys pick....doesnt the z6 have forged piston?

the z6 head flows better stock, so for that reason i would go with the d16z6. its also obdI

200-230 stock, safely.. but i've seen dynos for 250 on a stock z6. all depends on the tune and how long you want the motor to last

i just want it to be my boosted daily d...tuning i could probably get a friend from DNR Performance to tune my car the right way, and i want to stay with the 91 octane we californians have to deal with...lolz :x

z6 my buddy gots a turbo z6 with a mild engine build when he tuned it last year he made 340hp on 16lbs and 265hp on 9lbs but ive also seen z6 with a full build and turbo make just under 500hp the most ive seen a y8 make was around 450hp with basically the same setup and tune so i deffinately reccomend a z6 and yeah its odb1 so dorect swap no messing with rewiring or converting your harness over

z6 or dohc zc or a motor 95 on down in my book as there have been noted of the y8/y7 haveing oiling issues with the bottom ends and they are very mysterious issues too....

yea i prefer the z6 cuz mostley i see alot of people with boosted z6 and making pretty good numbers....when you say a mild build what do you mean by that what kind of stuff did he do to it...i just want it to be my daily d with alot of fun factor to it...hehe, im not going to street race (which BOYS & GIRLS IS VERY DANGEROUS!!) lolz..or drag. oh yea other question since i live here in sunny emission state how do i go about smogging my car when i get it boosted? since i want it to be my daily D?...hehe
